QNJAC launches geotechnical CPD seminars
Series of four regional half-day CPD seminars on ‘Essential Geotechnics for Quarrying’
A SERIES of four regional half-day CPD seminars providing an update on the latest guidance developed by the Geotechnical sub-group of QNJAC (Quarries National Joint Advisory Committee) is to be launched in the autumn at venues in Scotland, the North of England, the Midlands and the South West.
The seminars on the theme of ‘Essential Geotechnics for Quarrying’ are aimed at everyone who works in the industry, including contractors’ staff. The programme, which qualifies for four hours accredited CPD by the Institute of Quarrying, will start with an introduction by an HSE Inspector and will cover geotechnical toolbox talks, duty of the operator, face management, managing change, and excavations/tips, and will conclude with lunch and the opportunity for networking.
The dates and venues are as follows: 24 September, New Lanark Mill Hotel, South Lanarkshire; 1 October, Holiday Inn Scotch Corner, near Darlington; 16 October, Earth Science Centre, near Radstock, Somerset; and 22 October, National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull.
