Orders for nifty minis
Acton-based M. Teevan Hire Co. Ltd have taken delivery of 39 Kubota mini-excavators from dealers Leach Lewis Plant Ltd in a deal worth in excess of £700,000.
The machines supplied include: the 0.8-tonne K008, the 1.5-tonne KX36, the 7.5-tonne KX251 and the 4.5-tonne ZTS U45. The KX-series is powered by Kubota’s E-TVCS multi-cylinder diesel engines. These quiet and economical engines have very low exhaust emissions making them suitable for working in sensitive locations. The U45 is one of five models in Kubota’s range of ZTS machines.
KX71-3 mini-excavators have recently been supplied to Bridgend-based Alpha Waste Recycling and Reading-based Fenton Plant Hire.
The model supplied to Alpha Waste Recycling is fitted with a Kinghofer waste-handling grab for unloading material from skips into the transfer station. The operator then uses the grab to separate out material before loading into bins for recycling. Previously a team of men separated the waste material by hand; it is now an easy one-man job, making the entire operation far more efficient.
Supplied by Cambrian Plant Sales of Cardiff, the excavator was supplied with a standard digging bucket and grading bucket.
Five KX71-3 excavators have been supplied to Fenton Plant Hire. Two of the models were purchased as part of their ongoing fleet-enlargement programme while the others replaced older machines, bringing to 24 the number of Kubota minis now available for hire.
The KX71-3 has a 4.5m long arm as standard to provide a maximum digging force of 17.5kN and a digging force of 25.2kN for the bucket. It is powered by a Kubota V1505-EBH engine that can provide 10h of continuous operation on a full tank of fuel. The bucket cylinder hoses are routed through the arm and boom cylinder, which are shielded by a thick steel plate for increased protection. The model can be supplied with either a cab or canopy, both with ROPS/FOPS specification.
The machine is equipped with the Kubota Intelligent Control System that features warning indicators for the engine, fuel, temperature and oil. Delivering two-speed operation, the minimum travelling speed is 2.7km/h and the maximum is 4.6km/h.
