New Year membership boost for Institute of Quarrying
Twenty-nine new members sign-up from across the regions while others upgrade their membership
NOW in its centenary year, the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) continues to grow its membership with new joiners recruited from independent and major operators around the UK.
Throughout December and January, a further 29 new members signed-up from across the IQ regions, including the North of England, Derbyshire, South Wales, Scotland, Midlands, Lancashire, Yorkshire and London. New recruits to IQ cover the whole career spectrum, from Student, Associate and Technical to full Members.
As well as welcoming new members, IQ also saw members upgrading their membership for even greater recognition of their professional and career development achievements.
James Thorne (pictured), the IQ’s new chief executive officer, said: ‘Our continued growth in membership reflects our ever more relevant role in delivering meaningful, targeted and relevant professional development to people working in the minerals extractives sector.
‘Our centenary year is a celebration of 100 years of professionalism in the industry. That’s why it’s great to see so many fellow professionals looking to IQ for their professional development, both here and overseas.
‘I’m personally delighted to welcome our new and returning members, as well as applaud those upgrading their membership, and I look forward to overseeing the continued success and growth of IQ.’
