New TA400 articulated hauler for FP McCann

Terex Trucks’ 38-tonne capacity ADT demonstrating concrete performance in Northern Ireland

FP McCann, manufacturers and suppliers of precast concrete solutions, have put a 38-tonne capacity TA400 articulated dumptruck (ADT) from Terex Trucks to work at their quarry in Knockloughrim, Northern Ireland.

Demonstrating its reliability, the robust ADT has been amassing hours moving material around the arduous quarry environment. ‘There’s very little downtime when you have a Terex Trucks machine, and for the busy quarry environment that FP McCann operate, they can’t afford any downtime, which is why they chose such a reliable truck,’ said Jonathan Campbell, general manager at equipment distributors Sleator Plant.

The TA400, which was delivered straight from the Motherwell factory in Scotland to the Knockloughrim site, is the fifth Terex Trucks model to join FP McCann’s fleet.

‘We were happy to go with Terex Trucks once again; the TA400 is an excellent truck that ‘does what it says on the tin’ – it fits the requirements of the quarry,’ said Mark McCann, civil engineer at FP McCann. ‘We’ve noticed an increase in productivity as the machine has been performing well, and the operators have also commented on the comfortable and ergonomic cab.’

Powered by a six-cylinder Scania DC13 EU Stage 4-compliant engine that develops gross power of 331kW and a maximum torque of 2,255Nm, the TA400’s good traction and effective power-to-weight ratio ensures material is moved as quickly as possible in all conditions, providing FP McCann with high levels of productivity and low cost of operation.

Moreover, thanks to a series of recent investments, Sleator Plant have a dedicated team of personnel who work seamlessly with Terex Trucks engineers to provide an effective aftermarket service – a factor that played a major role in FP McCann’s decision to acquire the new TA400.
