New R&M offering from ZF Services and UPS

Alan Clarke and Mark Cooper

Partnership aims to offer ‘best-in-class’ driveline repair and maintenance service for off-highway sector

ZF Services UK, market leaders in driveline and chassis technology, have appointed United Plant Services (UPS) as their approved partner for repairs and maintenance for the off-highway sector.

The partnership brings together ZF’s wealth of technical capability and OE product range with the quick response times, UK coverage and expertise of UPS’s network of 36 field-based engineers.

Alan Clarke, operations director at ZF Services, said: ‘We are very excited about this partnership. It will enable us to significantly ramp up the support we can provide to the companies, managers and teams operating heavy plant in often extremely demanding conditions, from quarries and major infrastructure projects to busy ports.

‘In such environments it is critical that they have machinery they can rely on and downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.

‘Should they have an issue, they need the confidence that support will be there quickly and that the person working on their valuable digger, crane or other equipment has the right tools, training and technical resource to fix the problem.’

If a problem cannot be sorted on site UPS will transport the product to ZF’s repair and service centre in Nottingham. UPS operate in England and Wales as United Plant Services, whilst in Scotland they trade as Mac Plant, with headquarters in Falkirk.

Mr Clarke (right of picture) continued: ‘When selecting an approved partner, we were looking for someone with a pool of highly experienced engineers, able to reach all corners of the UK quickly and who, like us, are absolutely committed to being at the forefront in technical competency and innovation.

‘We have worked with UPS before and recognize they have all this, which is why we chose them. We truly believe this will be an unrivalled offer for the off-highway sector.’

UPS director Mark Cooper (left of picture) added: ‘There are tremendous synergies between the two businesses and we’re delighted to have been awarded approved-partner status. Both are leaders in their fields and working together we will be offering something others cannot match.’
