New regional marketing organization for Atlas Copco Portable Air
IN a bid to get closer to its customers, the portable air division at Atlas Copco has launched a new regional marketing organization. Vice-president of marketing John Hort said the new set-up would allow the company to develop focused strategies and adapt to the needs of each individual country.
‘For effective production and marketing, it’s important that we’re close to our customers,’ he explained. ‘With the divisional headquarters in Europe, a lot of focus went to this region in the past. We now want the same proximity in all regions of the world and, therefore, we have appointed regional marketing managers in each region.’
Jim O’Brien has been appointed regional marketing manager – China, East Asia & Australia; Ben Van Hove is regional marketing manager portable air for the Americas; and Mukul Chakravorty is now regional marketing manager portable air for India and Africa.
Mr Hort said: ‘The introduction of our new matrix structure will not result in a different marketing structure for each region. Rather, it will allow a more optimized way of working. Product managers, key accounts and communications will all have a more regional focus.’
