New quarry customer for Israel’s Hitachi dealer

Lime & Stone Production Co, Ltd/Ready Mix Industries take delivery of first Hitachi machine

A NEW Hitachi customer in Israel has taken delivery of an EX1200-6 hydraulic excavator. The 112-tonne machine has been bought by Lime & Stone Production Co. Ltd/Ready Mix Industries, part of  CEMEX, and will be used to dig blasted limestone and load it on to a 100-tonne capacity rigid dumptruck.

Established in 1935, Lime & Stone Production Co. Ltd/Ready Mix Industries are Israel’s largest producers of aggregates, operating a total of 11 plants and quarries which produce aggregates, concrete blocks, lime and asphalt.

The performance of the EX1200-6 and the quick delivery time were both factors which convinced Lime & Stone Production Company Ltd/Ready Mix Industries to place their first order with Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME).

‘This new Hitachi customer was impressed by the delivery time – it was a primary selection factor for CEMEX,’ commented Malcolm Edwards, HCME area manager for Heavy & Mining Equipment. ‘The EX1200-6 was shipped in the standard bulk break configuration and assembled at the site.’

The 760hp (567kW) machine has been built to the standard Hitachi quarry specification and is equipped with an MST heavy-duty rock bucket (6.7 cubic metre capacity).

After assembly, the EX1200-6 was tested and cycle times were checked. HCME representatives provided training on maintenance and basic functions of the excavator to CMD mechanics.

The EX1200-6 has now been moved to a test site where operators will undergo training before the machine starts work.
