New MD at B&W Mechanical Handling

Andy Blythe takes over as managing director of UK-based bulk-handling specialists B&W

ANDY Blythe has been appointed as managing director of Ely-based B&W Mechanical Handling Ltd, part of the Aumund Group. He joined the company in early May and succeeds Andrew Mitchell, who is now focusing on his own consultancy business but will maintain strong links with B&W.

Mr Blythe, who brings with him vast experience in the aggregates, minerals and bulk handling industries, together with a proven track record in business expansion and strategic development, will team up with Peter Slee-Smith, managing director of operations at B&W.

‘Joining B&W is like coming home. This is a great personal challenge and a great opportunity for B&W to grow,’ said Mr Blythe. ‘The initial focus will be to improve B&W’s strong presence in the ports and terminals sector, as well as expanding into other high-end markets that need the same technologies. In addition, we will also drive the business forward with new products into new segments.’
