New Liebherr L 586 XPower for Meyer Recycling GmbH
Firm takes delivery of Stage V wheel loader for load-and-carry duties at Berlin recycling site
MEYER Recycling, a subsidiary of Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co. KG, have invested in a new Liebherr L 586 XPower loading shovel for use at the company’s Berlin waste-recycling facility, in Germany.
The Stage V emissions-compliant wheel loader was primarily chosen for its high performance, reliability, fuel efficiency and operator comfort, most notably joystick steering. With the latter key feature, the 33-tonne Liebherr L 586 XPower allows the operator to comfortably steer using short movements on an ergonomic joystick.
The position of the joystick always corresponds to the respective articulation angle of the wheel loader. And the force feedback on the joystick ensures the best possible driving and operating experience. As joystick steering offers machine operators numerous advantages, the L 586 XPower for Meyer Recycling has not been specified with a steering wheel/column.
Equipped with power-split travel drive and a 6.5 cubic metre capacity rear-loading bucket for filling screening plants and loading trucks with processed material, operators at Meyer Recycling’s Berlin recycling centre have nothing but praise for the L 586 XPower loading shovel.
‘Around 30 trucks arrive at our recycling site every hour,’ said the company’s founder and managing director Thomas Meyer. ‘With the L 586 XPower, our machine operator only needs two loading cycles to fill a haul truck.’
Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co. KG are no strangers to operating Liebherr mobile plant and the recent purchase of the L 586 XPower reinforces the long-standing partnership between the two companies. Meyer Erdbau currently operate a modern equipment fleet of 60 machines for a range of services, including demolition, heavy construction and earthworks.
Construction equipment at the company’s disposal range from Liebherr Generation 8 crawler excavators and tractors to wheel loaders and a duty cycle crawler crane. Mr Meyer commented: ‘The high level of service quality from Liebherr is an important reason for us to regularly invest in products from Liebherr.’
