New generators from Doosan

Doosan G200-IIIA generator

Doosan Portable Power have launched the new G150-IIIA (150kVA prime power) and G200-IIIA (200kVA prime power) generators meeting the new EU Stage IIIA engine emission regulations for generators.

As well as incorporating the changes required to meet the Stage IIIA regulations, the new generators have been redesigned to offer increased reliability, high performance and a wider choice of features to meet the needs of temporary power applications.

The output performance stability of the generators is ensured by an optimized powertrain featuring a combination of John Deere Stage IIIA engines and Leroy Somer alternators. The generators have a standard fuel capacity offering a minimum of 12h of autonomous operation (at 75% of the load), while a 24h onboard fuel tank configuration is available as an option.

The innovative fuel tank frame system, which ensures 110% fluid containment capacity, is said to provide the highest operational flexibility available in the generator market. As fuel quality and storage are the main concerns for rental companies, routine fuel tank maintenance tasks have been simplified, with special attention to the fuel tank cleaning and port draining processes.

The new generators use powerful Leroy Somer alternators with the AREP excitation system, providing best-in-class motor-starting performance. This system is suitable for powering pumps, cranes and other applications with high start-up demands. To increase long-term reliability in harsh environments, the standard alternator configuration includes heavy-duty protection for the rotor and stator windings.

The electrical control and power compartment is designed to meet the highest safety, reliability and flexibility requirements. All control functions are grouped together on a common, simple-to-use operator control panel with easy-to-read analogue gauges. A digital control panel version, offering extended parameter measurements and historical storage of events and alarms, is available as an option. Combined with the digital controller, a switchable dual frequency 50/60Hz feature is also available as an option.

The new generator units are EU Stage IIIA emission compliant at both 50HZ and 60Hz frequencies. The power supply pedestal features as standard a robust busbar connection with high-quality electrical protection and an adjustable earth-leakage relay. A multi-grounding/neutral module is available as an option.

The robust canopy used on the existing generator range is utilized for the new products. The configuration and design of the air inlets have been optimized to meet cooling requirements in locations with high ambient temperatures. Access to key areas, such as the lifting eye, radiator and engine maintenance points, has been improved. The sound attenuation performance of the generators meets or exceeds the relevant European regulations.
