New filter press range from CDE
CDE have recently unveiled the latest generation of Diemme filter presses. The GHT single overhead beam range is said to offer a number of advantages over the commonly used side-beam design. CDE recently installed the UK’s first GHT model at Coleman & Co.’s newly opened construction and demolition waste recycling plant in Birmingham.
Specifically designed for the quarrying and recycling industries, the press features four hydraulic rams to ensure equal pressure across the plate pack, making the press much stronger and more suited to problematic materials than previous designs. Combined with purpose-designed high-pressure pumps, the press can produce cakes comprising up to 85% dry solids in a wide variety of applications.
Additional features include a special high-speed plate-shifting device that reduces cycle times and thus maximizes relative capacity. By raising the moving parts above the plate pack, the mechanism has been completely isolated from the sludge at all times.
The absence of side beams offers easy access to the plates for inspection and maintenance, and all models can be fitted with cloth washing and core blow facilities for fully automatic, operator-free operation, even in 24h duty applications.
The wide range of Diemme presses available from CDE includes the GHT2000.P13, currently the world’s largest filter press with a capacity of over 15m3 per cycle.
