New DX270WMH-7 wheeled material handler from Develon
Latest model delivers more power, reach and visibility for demanding material-handling tasks
DEVELON have launched the new DX270WMH-7 wheeled material handler, designed to deliver next-level performance in the toughest material sorting and handling applications. Typical uses include solid waste, recycling, and demolition operations.
At the heart of the machine is Develon’s latest-generation DL06V six-cylinder, turbocharged, water-cooled diesel engine, delivering 141kW (189hp) at 1,900 rev/min (SAE J1995). Stage V-compliant, the power unit is complemented by a newly engineered undercarriage, boom, arm, elevating cab, and counterweight.
The material handler’s new undercarriage features heavy-duty, wide axles and longer, broader dimensions, with a matching wheelbase for enhanced stability when working. A new hydraulic cab riser design increases elevation to 2,603mm, giving the operator improved visibility and a faster up speed.
The cab itself adopts Develon’s latest DXW-7 design, offering a spacious, ergonomic interior with an 8in gauge panel, smart controls, and reinforced structures to protect key components. Dual emergency descent valves – inside and outside the cab – further enhance safety.
For greater versatility, the DX270WMH-7 model is available with a straight arm as standard, with gooseneck and long gooseneck options. The straight arm configuration provides bucket linkage and a standard coupling for sorting grapples, whilst gooseneck arms offer a cost-effective solution for suspended attachments.
All arms and booms have been specifically designed for demanding material-handling duties, with durability and lifting stability a priority. Operational efficiency is boosted with ergonomic joysticks, steering wheel control, and two-way auxiliary/rotate circuit hydraulics.
Attachments can be managed via joystick buttons or an optional foot pedal. Develon’s Smart Power Control (SPC) system further improves fuel efficiency by automatically adjusting engine speed and pump torque according to the load.
The machine’s wide and stable undercarriage, with individually controlled stabilizers, ensures balance and durability on uneven or debris-laden sites. A standard reversing fan helps maintain optimal engine temperatures by clearing dust and debris from the cooling system.
Safety is improved through Develon’s virtual wall system, which allows operators to set customizable boundaries, reducing the risk of collisions with obstacles, ceilings, or even the cab itself.
