New Doosan compressors and generators at Bauma
Company to unveil latest Stage IIIB compressors and Stage IIIA generators
AT Bauma 2013, Doosan Portable Power will be showing the new, large 21/220 and 25/280 Stage IIIB portable compressors and new G80-IIIA (80kVA prime power) and G100-IIIA (100kVA prime power) generators for the first time.
Large portable compressors such as the new 21/220 and 25/280 models are used to provide compressed air for a wide range of drilling and boring machines working in quarrying, mining, site investigation, geothermal and mineral exploration activities, together with truck-mounted applications for quarry and water well drilling. They also cover other specialist applications such as abrasive blasting, spray painting and standby and temporary compressed air for industry.
The 21/220 model is powered by a Cummins QSL9 engine, delivering 254kW (340hp) at 1,800 rev/min, and combines the use of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter technologies to meet Stage IIIB regulations. It produces a free air delivery of 21.5 cubic metres per minute at an operating pressure of 21.0 bar.
The 21/220 unit is part of a new family of large Doosan portable compressors based on a common platform that also includes the new 9/275, 9/305, 12/250 and 17/240 models and offers free air deliveries from 21.5 to 30.0 cubic metres per minute at operating pressures from 8.6 to 21.0 bar.
The 25/280 compressor has a free air delivery of 28.3 cubic metres per minute at a rated operating pressure of 25.1 bar. It is powered by a Cat C-13 diesel engine using cooled EGR with a Cat Clean Emission after-treatment system to meet Stage IIIB regulations. The CAT C-13 engine provides 354kW (475hp) at 1,800 rev/min.
Dual pressure regulation is a standard feature of the new 25/280 compressor, allowing it to supply compressed air at operating pressures of either 25.1 or 17.2 bar. Dual pressure regulation expands the scope of applications for the 25/280 compressor.
The new G80-IIIA (80kVA prime power) and G100-IIIA (100kVA prime power) generators meet the latest EU Stage IIIA engine emission regulations for generators. Sharing a similar design and characteristics to the larger G150-IIIA and G200-IIIA models launched back in 2012, the new generators offer robustness and reliability, high performance and a wide choice of features to meet the needs of temporary power applications.
Of particular interest for the rental market, the G80-IIIA and G100-IIIA generators provide the highest flexibility available on the market, with an innovative fuel tank frame system offering a containment base integrated as standard, to ensure 110% fluid containment capacity.
As fuel quality and storage are major concerns for rental companies, routine fuel tank maintenance has been simplified with special attention to the fuel tank cleaning and port draining processes. A 3-way fuel supply valve is available as a modular option, which, when linked to an external fuel connection module, provides maximum autonomy. A manual engine oil sump pump option is also available.
