Details of this year’s rescheduled MPA Asphalt conference on the theme ‘Innovation in Recession’

THIS year’s rescheduled MPA Asphalt conference, on the theme ‘Innovation in Recession’, will now take place at The Heritage Motor Museum, in Gaydon, Warwickshire, on Friday 23 November.

Featuring experts from across the broad spectrum of the highways construction and maintenance community, the conference will tackle the subject of providing innovative highways maintenance services and products that address financial, political and other targets to deliver ‘more for less’.

The one-day conference, organized in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) and with sponsorship from TRL, will aim to put in context the drivers for innovation and how industry is delivering on these, either individually or in collaboration.

Asphalt 2012 will draw upon a panel of leading specialists from the highways construction and maintenance community, including Central and Local Government bodies, highways authorities, MPA member companies and other organizations.

Themes to be addressed will include: Maintenance efficiency, more than just potholes – protecting the public purse; The great SMA debate; Sustainable solutions and essential materials – innovative case studies; and Updates on sector activities and research.
