New clamp-on flowmeter from Coltraco Ultrasonics
With built-in thickness gauging for accurate non-invasive flow rate measurement of liquids in pipework
TO complement their 30 years’ expertise in ultrasonic level detection technology, this year Coltraco Ultrasonics have launched an upgraded clamp-on ultrasonic transit time flowmeter, the Portasonic 2.FL0.
Users can now quickly, easily and non-invasively measure liquid flow rates and velocities in pipes from DN15 to DN2500 and above, with measurements available in both metric and imperial units.
Software improvements have been introduced for improved accuracy and reliability in the field, whilst a new sensor design – now IP66 rated – is small and compact enough to be fitted into tight spaces.
A prominent new feature is a built-in thickness gauge, which includes A-scan functionality, to improve wall thickness accuracy measurements and help users understand pipe condition.
There is also a new menu to display heat quantity or energy measurements based on the measured volumetric flow rate. All measurements can be individually totalized to give the total flow rate during a particular measurement session.
The Portasonic 2.FL0 has a large internal database of pipe, fluid and lining materials and can accommodate additional materials, to allow for user customization.
