New ADT for the 25-tonne sector
Building on the success of their existing three-model range of articulated dumptrucks, JCB have unveiled their first machine in the 25-tonne class. At Intermat 2006 the wraps came off the three-axle JCB 726, heralding the company’s entry into the most popular segment of the ADT market.
The JCB 726 has a payload capacity of 23.6 tonnes (26 tons) and a body capacity of 14.1m3. It is powered by a Tier 3 common-rail diesel engine producing 305hp (227kW) and equipped with a ZF Smoothshift transmission and ZF axles.
The JCB 726 also features a totally new body housed on a rear chassis section similar to that on the existing 722 ADT. At the front, the 726 shares its spacious cab with other models in the range, with the front chassis riding on self-levelling hydraulic suspension.
With an emphasis on a light unladen weight, JCB say the 726 has a class-leading power-to-weight ratio and best-in-class ground-bearing pressures, making it highly suitable for use in wet and muddy ground conditions. The machine is designed to provide a hauling match for JCB’s JS330 and JS460 tracked excavators.
Like the existing 714, 718 and 722 models, the new JCB 726 features an electronic monitoring system (EMS), which constantly monitors the machine’s performance and, in the event of a system failure, shuts the machine down, protecting both the operator and the machine.
