Minerals Planning at a Crossroads
Annual MPA/RTPI Minerals Planning Conference taking place in London on 15 June
MINERALS planning is at a crossroads, with a range of issues and challenges facing the profession over the coming years. The need for better strategic planning appears to be widely accepted, with government considering reviewing the need for Guidelines for aggregates provision and re-energizing national co-ordination, but planning reforms appear to offer little to help.
Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) vice-president Lindsey Richards will open this year’s MPA/RTPI Minerals Planning Conference and will be followed by sessions on:
Environment and Heritage
Planning Reform and Minerals
Legal Update
Planning Practice and Implementation.
