Marini chosen again

Pavimental SpA, who maintain most of Italy’s road network, have purchased three new-generation Marini plants.

The plants are equipped with the latest technology for recycling, and as Pavimental intend to recycle RAP in large quantities, this was a major factor in choosing Marini.

An UltiMAP 2700 has been installed at Zola Predosa, near Bologna, and UltiMAP 200s have been installed at Andria, near Bari, and Loreto, near Ancona. At the Zola Predosa and Andria plants Marini also supplied a cold feeder, grizzly screen, granulator, and recycling ring feed belt to recycle up to 35% of material. At the Loreto plant two independent lines for RAP were installed, one of which feeds RAP to a dedicated elevator, which then transfers it through a surge hopper into a weighing hopper. RAP and aggregates are then discharged directly into the mixer. This system allows RAP recycling of 20–25%, although up to 40% can be achieved when the lines work simultaneously.

All three plants include: a dryer equipped with a recycling ring; heavy fuel silenced burner (also natural gas); pre-separator and filter with an increased filtering surface; a mixer that is suitable for longer cycles; and hot-mix storage bins.
