Leedale slash admin time with ePOD solution


Company eradicates paper tickets from tipper operation with Earthworks ePOD system from PODFather

WASTE-management, transport and environmental solutions providers Leedale have eradicated paper tickets from its tipper operation and slashed admin time in half having introduced PODFather’s Earthworks ePOD construction fleet management software to their growing operation.

With a fleet of 16 tippers and six grab trucks, and ambitious plans to expand the business, the Leedale team knew that paper processes of the past needed to be updated. PODFather’s proven reputation within the construction sector and easy-to-use software solution made them the obvious choice for this forward-thinking business.

The Leedale team now use PODFather’s load allocation, delivery tracking and electronic proof of delivery solution to manage the movement of aggregate and muck travelling from their Derbyshire headquarters to their network of customers.

Founded in 1989, Leedale Ltd have become one of the East Midlands best known companies operating in the construction and waste-management sectors. Operating out of their national headquarters in Alfreton, Derbyshire, Leedale deliver demolition, waste-management and haulage services to a wide range of customers across the UK.

With a rapidly expanding business and ambitious growth plans, the Leedale management team knew that to maximize business growth their inherently old, paper-based processes needed to be updated with easy-to-use, yet effective technology.

Phase one of the system roll out has been to implement PODFather across Leedale’s tipper and grab vehicle divisions. PODFather is now used daily to allocate loads to vehicles, track delivery performance, manage last-minute orders and gather electronic proof of delivery in real time. Transport office teams use the cloud-based back office system while drivers have quickly adapted to the easy-to-use smartphone app.

‘The PODFather solution is incredibly intuitive, which has meant we’ve been able to roll it out quickly across our tipper and grab service divisions,’ commented Kim Smith, Leedale’s national sales manager.

‘With PODFather in place, we have real-time visibility of what’s going on and can deal with any issues, delays or last-minute orders in a quick and efficient manner. With no paper tickets we’ve been able to halve the amount of admin time we spend processing job information and we can invoice faster than before, which is a big benefit to the business.’
