Kubota introduce latest excavator

Kubota KX080-4 excavator

KX080-4 is the most powerful model in the company’s popular KX-4 Series range

KUBOTA have announced the launch of their newest excavator, the KX080-4, which has been carefully designed to reduce impact on the environment. The machine incorporates a Kubota-manufactured engine, featuring the latest technological advancements to make it one of the cleanest and efficient on the market for EU Stage IIIB-compliance.

The KX080-4 excavator has an operating weight of up to 8.7 tonnes and is equipped with an well-balanced arm and bucket to give the operator a superior digging force – meaning the machine digs faster and more efficiently, even in arduous conditions.

According to Kubota, the machine’s new direct injection diesel engine with common rail system (CRS) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) muffler helps to maximize digging strength while, simultaneously, reducing noise, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.  The CRS electronically controls the fuel injection timing and amount in stages, rather than all at once, to deliver optimum combustion.

The low carbon credentials of the KX080-4 has been achieved largely through Kubota’s Eco Plus feature. This results in an 18% reduction on fuel usage when compared with the previous KX080-3 model, while not compromising on performance or productivity.

All of these benefits ensure that the KX080-4 will be suitable for use within the ‘London Low Emission Zone’ if current plans go ahead to extend the conditions set by the zone to cover construction machinery.

Other key features fitted as standard include: an auto idling system; two proportional control auxiliary circuits; a safety valve on the boom and arm, and an anti-theft device. To ensure smooth and efficient travelling, the KX080-4 is fitted with an advanced two-speed auto-shift feature which automatically adjusts speed and traction force depending on load size and terrain.

For those working in tight spaces and close conditions, the machine’s narrow 2,200mm width makes it an ideal solution. The KX080-4 excavator’s compact dimensions also help make it much easier to transport between job sites.
