Kobelco launch the SK130LC-11 excavator

Kobelco SK130LC-11 excavator

New machine marks manufacturer’s first premium entry in 12–14-tonne excavator segment

KOBELCO Construction Machinery Europe BV (KCME) have introduced their first premium excavator in the 12–14-tonne operating class – the new SK130LC-11. Featuring a latest-generation, three-litre, Stage V-compliant Isuzu R-4JJ1XDDV-A01 turbocharged diesel engine with a power output of 78.5kW, the machine is said to deliver a best-in-class drawbar pulling force of 141kN and a high bucket digging force of 105.4kN.

The SK130LC-11 design includes a modern and spacious cabin that features intuitive, easy-to-use operating controls and systems. A large 10in colour monitor provides easily accessible and programmable menu functions, machine status information and clear views from the rear and right-side cameras, which are fitted as standard, whilst a new Kobelco-branded Grammar seat ensures operator comfort over a full working day.

A revised hydraulic system promotes smooth hydraulic control, with seven pre-set hydraulic attachment modes (eg bucket, nibbler, tilt-rotator, breaker etc) can be accessed via an LED back-lit jog dial and on-screen selection modes. Four further customizable modes are available and quick-hitch hydraulic piping is fitted as standard.

The new FOPS Level II roof guard features a swing-open door section so the external roof glass can now be easily cleaned for visibility without reducing its structural integrity. Other areas of redesign include a repositioning the safety valve on the cylinder arm to further minimize the risk of accidental contact with site obstacles, and the uprating of the mounting lug dimensions on the standard bucket to suit the available digging force.

In addition, a large 280-litre capacity fuel tank reduces refuelling downtime, whilst new parallel front window wipers give a larger swept contact area and internal LED lighting reacts to door opening/closure and main ignition on/off to further promote operator safety.
