JCB launch industrial version of their TM320
Wraps come off Tier 4 Final TM320 telescopic wheel loader for the construction and industrial sectors
JCB have launched a TM320 telescopic wheel loader designed specifically for the construction and industrial sectors.
The JCB TM320, which combines the central driving position and all-round visibility of a wheel loader with the reach and lift versatility of a telescopic handler, sits alongside the existing TM320 Wastemaster version.
It has a maximum 3,200kg lift capacity, which is available to a full lift height of 5.2m as well as from ground level, and delivers a maximum 1,750kg of lift capacity at full forward reach of 2.95m ahead of the front wheels.
According to JCB, this combination of lift and reach performance makes the TM320 highly versatile and particularly suitable for general lift and place applications on construction sites or for re-handling in concrete batching plants or smaller quarry operations.
The TM320 is powered by a 4.4-litre version of the award-winning JCB EcoMAX engine, which develops 93kW (125hp) and meets EU Stage IV/US Tier 4 Final emissions compliance using JCB’s selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.
JCB’s chief innovation and growth officer, Tim Burnhope, said: ‘This is a proven solution that we introduced on our Loadall telescopic handlers for Europe earlier this year. It’s a very compact installation that makes efficient use of AdBlue, without detracting from the engine’s excellent power, torque and fuel-consumption characteristics.’
The engine, which drives through a four-speed JCB Powershift transmission, offers a maximum speed of 40km/h. A load-sensing hydraulic system, with an output of 140 litres/min, ensures maximum performance and efficiency.
The Powershift transmission can be operated in automatic mode or manually, using a traditional left-hand lever, by operating the shift and forward–reverse selector switches mounted on the Servo joystick.
A hydraulic reversible cooling fan that provides a choice of reversing intervals to suit different situations, as well as manual activation to purge the cooling pack of dust and debris when necessary, is available as an option.
The TM320 also gets cylinder end damping as standard, to refine the operating experience when the telescopic section of the boom is fully extended and when the boom is retracted and lowered. JCB’s Auto Smooth Ride System boom suspension is available as an option.
A full-colour instrument display is one of several new features in the spacious operator’s cab, providing information and warnings in a clear ‘at a glance’ format. Daily checks for engine oil, coolant and washer fluid levels can be completed from the driver’s seat during engine start-up, saving time and ensuring that essential checks are carried out as a matter of routine.
The machine is also equipped with hard-wearing bronze graphite bushes that extend the chassis pivot and boom greasing interval to 500h. A rear-view camera with colour display can be supplied, and an immobilizer key option complements the theft deterrence provided by JCB LiveLink.
