JCB dealers gear up for growth in compact market
ALL UK JCB dealers are to set up separate sales companies to capitalize on the strength and breadth of the company’s compact equipment line-up. The project will see the number of dealer salesmen dedicated to selling JCB compact equipment increase to in excess of 50.
The dealers will also create separate compact equipment showrooms at selected depots covering England, Scotland and Wales, as well as investing in special tow-and-show vehicles so the large range of JCB compact equipment, which now boasts 43 models, can be taken directly to the customer for demonstration.
The dealers’ expansion follows a decision earlier this year by JCB to set up their own Compact Equipment Sales division for Europe. According to JCB, sales of compact equipment have now reached a level where the creation of new sales companies, with a dedicated, specialized sales force, makes sense.
In the UK alone, the size of the compact equipment market has tripled in the last 10 years and is now worth approximately £225 million a year, with around 15,000 machines sold annually.
