Jack Moody strengthen JCB fleet
Recycling company adds two new JCB 456eHT Wastemaster loading shovels to existing fleet
JACK Moody Ltd’s recycling business has expanded its 16-strong fleet of JCB equipment with the addition of two new 456eHT Wastemaster wheel loaders.
The new machines are used in the processing of green waste and inert materials and the handling of recycled wood pellets and chips for distribution to a local biomass-fuelled power station.
One of the new machines is operating at the Jack Moody’s 55-acre headquarters in Cannock and the other at a satellite centre near Telford. They join eight more JCB 456 wheel loaders, three JCB JS tracked excavators, one JCB 2CX and one 3CX backhoe loader, two Loadall telescopic handlers and a JCB Teletruk, all of which perform a wide range of handling and loading tasks.
Robert Moody, managing director of Jack Moody Ltd, said: ‘The specification of high-quality plant and machinery has been crucial to our success and we have a strong philosophy of supporting local businesses and backing British manufacturers. JCB typify this – providing us with high-quality, reliable and cost-effective machines. We also receive excellent service and backup from dealer Gunn JCB.’
Across their diverse business operation, Jack Moody recycle commercial and municipal organic materials as a cost-effective alternative to landfill disposal. They currently processes up to 244,000 tonnes of inert material and over 90,000 tonnes of green waste per annum at their four sites.
The green waste is processed to produce a 100% recycled, peat-free compost, sold under the CARE Compost brand, and is used extensively by Jack Moody Landscapes as well as sold through garden centres and local authority civic amenity sites.
Jack Moody Ltd are one of the largest composting operations in the UK and were the first compost manufacturer to be granted the BSI PAS 100 2005 standard by the Composting Association. They have also been designated as a ‘best practice site’ by WRAP.
One of the flagship models in the JCB range, the JCB 456eHT Wastemaster has been tailor-made for the rehandling environment, incorporating features such as light guards, lower door guards and fenders to protect against potential impact damage.
In addition, underbelly guards protect transmission components from material contamination while specialist tyres ensure maximum protection against punctures.
Protection for the operator is provided by the fitment of roof and screen guards to the positive-pressure cab, while reversing alarms, reversing cameras, convex mirrors, rotating beacons and additional work lights help ensure bystander safety.
