IQ Annual Conference 2011
Institute of Quarrying issues Call for Papers for its 2011 Annual Conference in October
THE Institute of Quarrying has issued a call for papers for its 2011 Annual Conference, which will take place on Tuesday 11 October 2011 at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
For 2011 the conference is being organized in association with the Institute of Asphalt Technology, The Concrete Society and The Mechanical Handling Engineers Association, and will cover a wide range of topics on the broad theme of ‘Energy Management, Waste
Minimization, and Sustainability’.
The target audience for the event is centred on production managers and supervisors from the extractive industries, with the objective of providing delegates with access to a wide range of papers dealing with the latest techniques, technologies and best practice that will be of real practical value in their own workplace.
The conference will take the form of plenary sessions at the beginning and end of the day with two concurrent steams of papers in between, one focusing on aggregate production and the other on added-value products, such as asphalt, cement and concrete.
The organizing committee would now welcome proposals for papers from individuals either employed in the industry, or its supply chain, who would like to be considered for inclusion in the programme.
Expressions of interest comprising the title of the paper, a brief synopsis (no more than 150 words) and short biographical notes on the author, should be forwarded by email to Lyn Bryden, Secretary of The Institute of Quarrying, before 4 March 2011. The final selection of papers will be made by the IQ Education Committee, with all speakers being notified of the outcome during April.
