O’Donovan Waste managing director crowned family business ‘Director of the Year’
JACQUELINE O’Donovan, managing director of O’Donovan Waste, has been named as Director of the Year in the family business category at the annual Institute of Directors (IoD) awards.
Taking place in an online format this year, the awards ceremony was streamed from the IoD’s headquarters on Pall Mall, London. Ms O’Donovan’s award recognizes individuals (ie directors) in family-run businesses who have responded to specific challenges and have contributed to the success of the diverse, dynamic and innovative family business sector.
The judging panel – which comprised of respected industry leaders covering IoD’s London, South and South West regions – recognized Ms O’Donovan for being at the forefront of leadership excellence, her contributions to sustainability and business excellence, as well as her collaboration with the wider industry to encourage safety and best practice.
Commenting on Ms O’Donovan’s business success, the judges remarked: ‘An amazing story of determination, drive, focus and passion – a clear business leader in a male-dominated industry.’
Jacqueline O’Donovan added: ‘I’m absolutely delighted and honoured to receive the Family Business Director of the Year award. With over five million family businesses in the UK and with the diverse nature of my role, it makes this achievement even more special.
