Increasing product demand drives Rokbak recruitment
Company strengthening Motherwell team with variety of industrial and office-based positions
SCOTTISH articulated hauler manufacturers Rokbak, part of Volvo Construction Equipment, are recruiting close to 100 industrial and office-based roles as global demand for the company’s products continues to increase, following a successful rebrand in September 2021.
The Motherwell-based manufacturer has been building off-road trucks since 1950, but the company has had several name changes in that time – most recently to Terex Trucks in 2014 when it became part of the Volvo Group, and then to Rokbak in September 2021.
Now, thanks to increased global demand for their products, Rokbak are strengthening their team with a variety of additional industrial and office-based positions, including assemblers, painters, welders, platers, CNC machinists, final assemblers, maintenance fitter, maintenance electrician, technical writer, HSE advisor, manufacturing engineer, quality engineer and buyer.
‘After becoming part of the Volvo Group, we’ve benefitted from tens of millions of pounds of investment in our products, facilities and people,’ explained Rokbak’s managing director, Paul Douglas. ‘It was clear we needed to rebrand to highlight the huge improvements that we’ve made to our products – the RA30 and RA40 – as well as the entire business.
‘The new Rokbak brand is a big success, and that’s thanks to all our employees. We are seeing huge demand for our articulated haulers, so we are now back recruiting a variety of jobs from entry-level to experienced positions across the business.
‘This is not only great news for our company, but also for the local community. It has been a tough few years with Covid and the current UK economic crisis, so it means a lot that we have been able to hire, and continue to hire, to help hard-working and enthusiastic people join our team.’
