I-R introduce new portable compressors
Earlier this year Ingersoll-Rand launched two new portable compressors — the 7/26E and 7/31E — to replace the previous 7/26 and 7/31 models. The new models are based on a redesigned common platform offering several features and options not previously available for these models, including an increased run time due to the use of a 50-litre fuel tank.
Demonstrating their commitment to protecting the environment, Ingersoll-Rand say that one of the most important new options is a ‘bunded base’. This fully contained base ensures that all operating fluids stay within the compressor and will soon
be available on the company’s complete range of portable compressors. The new models both utilize a ‘serviceless’ direct-driven 85mm air end, designed to meet the 2006 noise regulations. The sound power level in both models is 98dB(A).
Other options such as: generator, aftercooler, overspeed valve, spark arrestor and twin toolbox, which were previously only available on the 7/31, are now available on both compressor models. Customers can also choose an optional control panel providing much more comprehensive information with additional fault signals. A new, lower-cost version of the 7/31E, without brakes, is due to be launched later this year.
The 7/26E and 7/31E models provide free air deliveries of 2.5m3/min and 3.0m3/min at output pressures of 7 bar, respectively. They are aimed at a wide range of applications in the plant hire, construction and general industry markets.
