Hyva supply all-round solution to Gloucester quarry operator

Allstone stay loyal to one manufacturer by specifying a Hyva tipping cylinder, skiploader and hookloader bodywork 

ALLSTONE, one of the leading quarry operators in the South West, have put their trust in one key supplier by specifying a new tipping cylinder, skiploader platform and hookloader bodywork – all manufactured by Hyva. 

‘I tend to buy on performance, not price, and by any yardstick the performance of Hyva equipment beats the competition hands down,’ said Simon Ford, owner and managing director of Allstone. ‘The fact that Hyva is the best in their class across three product sectors is a real bonus, as this means we only have to deal with just one key supplier.’

Established in 1984, Allstone started by supplying aggregates to the local construction industry but in recent years the business has now developed extensive activities in the skip hire, waste-management and recycling markets. Sister company Bromsberrow Sand & Gravel Co Ltd, located just off the M50, near Ledbury, are dedicated suppliers of quarry products and this year they have also benefited from significant investment in new vehicles.

The two companies have put into service new 12-tonne and 18-tonne gvw Hyva skiploaders, as well as the latest 32-tonne Hyva Titan hookloaders. Allstone have also taken delivery of new 18-tonne and 32-tonned tippers fitted with Hyva cylinders and Wilcox alloy and Thompsons steel bodies, respectively.

The vehicles, fitted throughout with either DAF LF or CF chassis, are finished off in the company’s highly attractive red and yellow livery, presenting a particularly bright and professional image.

‘While we like to present a good image and be recognized, ultimately the business is all about providing a top-level service,’ said Mr Ford. ‘From the customer’s point of view, reliability is everything. In turn, that comes down to our trucks and achieving next to no unscheduled downtime on a daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly basis.

We can also get parts from Hyva on an overnight basis, with on-site support as and when we need it.’
