Hydrema celebrate 30 years of success
Danish-owned compact equipment manufacturer marks three decades of business in the UK
HYDREMA, the Danish-owned earthmoving equipment manufacturers, are celebrating 30 years of business in the UK from their base in Ripon, North Yorkshire.
Established in 1985, Hydrema (UK) Ltd – a wholly owned subsidiary of Hydrema A/S Denmark – have a product range that includes various wheeled excavators, articulated backhoe loaders and specialist vehicles for military applications – but it is their popular compact articulated dumptrucks (ADTs) that the company is most widely known for in the UK.
UK sales director Tim Wadsworth said: ‘We pioneered the compact articulated dumptruck market in the 1980s and the 912 is now globally the most widely sold ADT in its class.’
According to Hydrema, knowing the ins and outs of the off-road dumptruck market has been essential to the company’s 30-year success.
Hydrema compact ADTs are designed for use where space is limited or where terrain is soft and low ground pressure is needed to prevent damage to the surface. The 912 dumptrucks are renowned for their robustness and ease of use, making them suitable for contractors and plant hirers alike.
In recent years Hydrema have offered chassis cab versions of their 912 and 922D articulated dumptrucks, to work in other applications.
Mr Wadsworth continued: ‘We’re always looking at ways to adapt to new markets and we now offer machines capable of being fitted with lime spreaders, tankers, bowsers and all manner of attachments for new niche markets.’
