Hodgson & Hodgson acoustic cabins
The Hodgson & Hodgson Group have developed an acoustic cabin system specially designed mitigate the effects of noise in quarries. The cabin, which is of steel-frame construction, is clad with heavy-duty acoustic panels. The wall panels have an inner and outer skin of solid steel, while the roof panels include an inner skin of perforated sheet steel.
The building specification, claim Hodgson & Hodgson, helps achieve typical reductions of around 30dB, ensuring personnel are adequately protected. Double-glazed windows in laminated or toughened safety glass, floors with durable coverings and an air-conditioning unit are available as options. The cabins are usually raised or lowered into position on site. Larger units, where access for one-piece units is not possible, are built on site.
