Hillhead 2012: Weir Minerals launch new Warman pump
Weir Minerals are launching their latest Warman WBH centrifugal slurry pump to the European market at this year’s Hillhead exhibition.
The new pump, which features more than 20 individual design improvements on its predecessor, boasts one of the broadest efficiency curves in its class.
A single-piece frame design provides truer alignment of bearings, seals and impeller with the front liner while also lowering the total number of parts. The WBH’s new ‘One Point’ front liner adjustment system allows operators to both rotate and axially adjust the liner relative to the impeller, even during use.
Weir Minerals have also included within the WBH’s design an ability to continuously minimize the gap between the liner and impeller to reduce wear, increase the pump’s lifespan and reduce downtime.
Specific new safety features to prevent catastrophic failure include standard leak detection, optional vibration, temperature and wear monitoring and the ability to add pressure relief and thermal cut out devices.
Tony G Locke, managing director of Weir Minerals Europe, said: ‘Our pumps perform critical roles within our customers’ processes, making the need for maintenance to be both easy and predictable absolutely paramount. The WBH is specifically designed to offer the same market-leading performance levels as its predecessors in the Warman series but with longer maintenance-free intervals. This helps our customers to increase production and reduce their energy consumption, helping them to make savings on their bottom lines.’
A WBH pump is being demonstrated by Weir Minerals on stand N20 at this year’s show.
