Griffiths acquired by Tarmac

Griffiths

Regional construction and surfacing business becomes part of Tarmac’s Contracting business

TARMAC have announced that Griffiths, a successful and well-respected regional construction and surfacing business operating across Wales, the Midlands and south-west England, have become part of their Contracting business.

The company will continue to operate under the Griffiths name, with Tarmac and the Griffiths management teams ensuring business as usual for existing Griffiths customers.

By combining the expertise of both businesses, Tarmac say the acquisition will strengthen their overall civils and highways customer offer in key markets, as well as building upon their existing network of strategic sites, logistics and operations.

Griffiths’ principal sectors of expertise include highways and bridges, rail, utilities, surfacing, integrated transport, urban regeneration, highway maintenance and water management.

The company, which operates out of six regional offices across Wales, the Midlands and south-west England, directly employs its own 700-strong workforce and has an extensive plant fleet.

Working with key clients in their operating areas, Griffiths have delivered major projects including the A483 Newtown bypass, South Bristol Link, Llanaber/Barmouth sea defences and numerous M4 projects.
