Financial support will help Lincolnshire recycling firm acquire commercial waste transfer station in Rutland

WASTE-management and demolition contractors Grantham Industries have secured a £500,000 finance facility from specialist SME lenders Paragon Bank to assist with the purchase of a commercial waste site in Rutland, East Midlands.

The £500,000 funding will also enable the business to renovate the site, transforming the current waste transfer station into a waste-recycling centre and providing a broader range of services to the local community. The Rutland waste facility will significantly expand Grantham Industries’ geographical presence, augmenting their existing operations in Louth, Lincoln, and Doncaster.

In addition to the funding facility, Paragon have recently assisted the company with a £198,000 asset finance package to acquire a new Volvo wheel loader for use on one of its current waste transfer sites.

Grantham Industries offer a variety of services under their GBM Demolition, GBM Plant Services, and GBM Waste Management brands. Managing director Simon Grantham and his brother Andrew Grantham founded the company in 2001, and it now employs over 90 staff and operates nationwide.

Leanne Fairburn, finance director at Grantham Industries, remarked: ‘We had a very specific requirement to purchase a waste site and were searching for a lender to support this transaction. We were delighted that Paragon could assist us with a funding facility, building on our existing relationship with the bank after previously purchasing equipment. Acquiring the site in Rutland will present a new opportunity for us to expand our footprint and proposition, and we’re thankful to the Paragon team for all their assistance in making this a smooth process.’

Henry Oakes, business development manager at Paragon’s SME lending division, added: ‘It’s been a pleasure to help Grantham Industries grow its business and acquire the site, which will undoubtedly create new opportunities for them.’
