Further restructuring at Volvo CE

Volvo Construction Equipment restructures customer support and regional sales organizations

SINCE the operations and technology functions of Volvo CE were restructured in 2008, the organizational changes have helped improve efficiency, increase speed of execution and enhance agility.

The company is now continuing with the next phase of its structural realignment, whereby
Volvo CE’s centralized customer support (CST) structure will be integrated with the other functions in the company.

Among other benefits, Volvo say this will improve customer orientation, enhance focus on soft offerings and further increase speed of execution by eliminating overlaps with the regional, technology and operations functions.

In addition, to adapt to current market dynamics and growth prospects, which have shifted significantly in the last few years, Volvo CE’s sales organization will be restructured to comprise the following regions: Americas; Asia Pacific; China; and Europe/Middle East/Africa.

Volvo say this new structure will offer a better balance in market size and construction equipment business and allow for smoother management within geographical and time zones. It will also increase the focus on markets to be developed and help improve efficiency.

The new structure will be in place from 1 January 2012.
