FM Conway open new asphalt plant at Heathrow
Heathrow Asphalt plant boosts company’s supply capacity across London and the South East
FM Conway have opened their new £10 million Heathrow Asphalt plant in Bulls Bridge, Hayes, creating 65 new local jobs. Heathrow Asphalt will produce up to 300,000 tonnes of asphalt per year, providing 24h security of supply for the company’s highways clients and partners.
Michael Conway, chief executive of FM Conway, said: ‘The new asphalt plant at Heathrow is a crucial investment for us, and we’re delighted that this has allowed us to provide new highly skilled jobs for residents.
‘The nature of our business means we work very closely with the communities in which we operate, and we want to make sure our work and the investments we make benefit local people wherever possible.’
Heathrow Asphalt is the second asphalt plant the company has opened in three years. Both facilities are said to be among the most efficient in Europe and together have the capacity to produce up to 600,000 tonnes of asphalt per year, boosting FM Conway’s supply capacity across London and the South East.
