Flex-Mat 3 screening media
MONTREAL-based Major Wire Industries Ltd say their high-performance, self-cleaning Flex-Mat 3 screening media can increase product throughput by up to 40% over traditional woven-wire or polyurethane panels by eliminating blinding, pegging and clogging.
In addition, the screening media are said to have up to 30% more open area than woven wire, allowing for much higher throughput of in-spec product.
Flex-Mat 3 features green polyurethane strips that align to the screen box crown bars and hold individual wires in place as they run from hook to hook. These wires vibrate individually to separate material efficiently without any blinding, pegging or clogging, making Flex-Mat 3 suitable for use in applications including gravel, granite, limestone, topsoil and coal.
The screening media are available from 30 mesh to 4in and come with a wide range of application-specific wire diameters, allowing Major Wire to fine-tune each screen’s performance.
Wire configurations include: a diamond shaped Flex-Mat ‘D’ for most standard applications; a wave-patterned Flex-Mat ‘S’ for the removal of fines; and a triangular Flex-Mat ‘T’ for heavy scalping/fine screening applications.
