Finning seal deal with CEMEX UK
Mexican cement giant places order for 15 new Caterpillar machines from Finning for its UK quarry network
FINNING have secured a major deal to supply a fleet of 15 new Caterpillar machines to CEMEX UK. The order comprises: three Cat 966H wheel loaders; two Cat 972H and two Cat 962H medium-size wheel loaders; a Cat 365CL ME, three Cat 345DL and two Cat 336DL hydraulic excavators; a Cat 735 articulated dumptruck; and a Cat D6N LGP track-type tractor.
Maintenance and servicing for each of the 15 units falls under the Finning customer service master agreement with CEMEX UK, whereby the management and scheduling of the servicing is jointly managed between Finning and CEMEX, ensuring servicing is completed on time with the minimum disruption to the production requirements.
Commenting on the deal, Jon Gray, projects negotiator for CEMEX UK, said: ‘This is a significant purchase from us and one that has seen the company work very closely with Finning to analyse our needs and secure the right equipment for our site operations, at a competitive whole-life cost, with the right back-up.’
Finning strategic account manager Robert Powell added: ‘We have worked hard with CEMEX to understand the business and operations, and to share best practice with the team across the UK. Having this close working relationship means we are able to look at the challenges CEMEX UK have as a business at each of their quarry and aggregate processing plants, which enables us to product match for the environment.’
