Finlay Group rebrand as Molson Finlay
Molson rebranding exercise being rolled out across the Group during the first quarter of 2019
FINLAY are to be renamed Molson Finlay as part of a rebranding exercise by Molson Group, who acquired Finlay Group in June 2018. In addition, Aggregate Washing Services (APS), previously a Finlay Group company, will become Molson Washing, whilst Finlay Hire will retain their existing branding.
Molson Group say the objective of the rebranding exercise is to align the individual organizations under the Molson brand and provide a clear proposition of all the Group’s capabilities, whilst still maintaining each unit’s unique identity and making clear their particular focus.
The exercise, which began in the fourth quarter of 2018 with A&Y Equipment Sales being renamed Molson Compact Equipment, is being rolled out across the Molson Group throughout the first quarter of 2019, with front-line services being the first things to change.
Other changes being made include the creation of Molson Used, to showcase Molson Group’s wide selection of quality used machines, and the renaming of the Group’s Scottish business, Young Plant Sales, as Molson Young Plant Sales.
Molson Equipment and Molson Green will remain the Group’s brands in England and Wales for traditional yellow plant and recycling equipment respectively.
Sean Warburton, managing director of Molson Finlay, said: ‘This marks the start of a new chapter for Finlay crushers and screeners in the UK market. Since the acquisition (of Finlay Group) by Molson Group, there has been a real uplift in performance by the whole team.
‘Not only does this mean a new name for us, allowing us to highlight the other products available to our customers through the wider Group, we also benefit from shared resource within the Group, allowing us to offer a better experience for our customers in all aspects.
‘In addition to the rebrand, we are also extremely close to closing a deal on a much-needed new premises for Molson Finlay HQ. Still located in the Staffordshire area, the new offices will not only provide a more modern and practical service, but also allow us to fulfil our immediate growth plans.’
Robin Powell, Molson Group’s joint managing director, said: ‘2018 was a fantastic year for the Group and the rebrand is simply about bringing it all together. As a Group, we are in a unique position in the market because of the breadth of products and services we are able to offer.
‘This rebrand comes in as we continue to invest in our business. With an additional 15 vans now hitting the road in January, to further improve our after-sales capacity, and huge improvements to our existing sites soon to start, 2019 is set to be another huge year across the Molson Group.’
Founded by Jonathan Wilson and Robin Powell in 1996, Molson Group are the sole UK distributors of Kobelco construction products in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) and the largest dealers of Hyundai Construction Equipment in Europe. Last year the Group achieved a record turnover of £165 million.
