Old Hall Farm, which forms part of Aggregate Industries plc office complex, has been completely refurbished and redeveloped as part of a plan to restore the building to its former state. The property was purchased in 1973 but over the years had become dilapidated and subject to vandalism.
In 2002 a decision was taken to begin the process of converting the area into offices. Using products supplied by Charcon, Bardon Aggregates and Bradstone, and with the full approval of the Environment Agency, the external walls were repaired rather than demolished and the brickwork of the former farmhouse was repointed.
Estates surveyor Viv Squires explained: ‘Wherever possible we have managed to retain the building’s original features, for example the date plaque above the entrance has been restored and resurrected. The restoration and refurbishment of Old Hall Farm has been a tremendous success and a joy to watch progress.’
