Enerpac win major engineering award
Company’s Pow’R-LOCK hydraulic jacking system wins PACE Zenith Award
ENERPAC, specialists in high-pressure hydraulic equipment, have received a Process & Control Engineering (PACE) Zenith Award for their self-contained Pow’R-LOCK vehicle lifting system for heavy lifts up to 200 tonnes. The PACE Zenith Awards recognize engineering companies that provide advanced technologies and products designed for safety, efficiency, productivity and performance.
Enerpac’s Pow’R-LOCK hydraulic jacking system was recognized in the transport category for providing safe and secure lifting for heavy off-highway machinery, including haul trucks, mining vehicles and civil engineering equipment.
“It was rewarding to be recognized for this innovative solution that lifts massive vehicles in the mining and civil engineering industries,’ said Denis Matulin, Enerpac regional manager, Australia and New Zealand. ‘Enerpac’s goal is ‘zero harm’ and products like the Pow’R-LOCK, which reduces risk by providing autonomous locking of the load, help us achieve and maintain this goal.’
Key features of Pow’R-LOCK include: redundant lowering valves; PO (pilot-operated) check and counter-balance to add safety to the retract operation; pneumatic operation for use in potentially hazardous environments (in consultation with Enerpac); and patented cylinder and control technology which provides double-acting lock-nut protection with low collapsed heights.
In addition, the Pow’R-LOCK locking system provides autonomous protection during lifting, lower and hold functions, and integrated tilt saddle to reduce side loading while extending the life of the jack in extreme situations. The jacking system also features an ergonomic six-position handle that maximizes leverage and hand clearance under vehicles when positioning to a lift point.
Furthermore, the Pow’R-LOCK is equipped with a large base plate that increases contact with the ground, distributes load, resists tipping and achieves a stability factor that allows the system to be classified as a vehicle support stand. For additional corrosion protection on the cylinder in heavy industry environments, the lift system comes with nitro-carburization.
