EASTERN Concrete have announced the opening of their third state-of-the-art ready-mixed concrete batching plant near Norwich.
The new depot, which sits close to the town of Wymondham with easy access to the A11 and south Norfolk, will complement the company’s existing plants in Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds.
Managing director Tom Baker said: ‘Eastern Concrete’s reputation for quality, flexibility and customer focus is further strengthened by the addition and location of the Wymondham plant. It will offer new and existing clients a comprehensive service right across the eastern region.’
The wet batch plant (pictured under construction) is capable of mixing more than 50 cubic metres per hour of quality-assured concrete. A seamless supply of aggregates to the new plant is guaranteed as it is located adjacent to Longwater Gravel Co. Ltd’s Wymondham Quarry.
Established by Tom Baker in 2002 and based in Stowmarket, Eastern Concrete Ltd are the region’s leading suppliers of site-mixed concrete with a modern fleet of 30 volumetric and ready-mixed trucks.
In 2012 the company acquired the two ready-mixed concrete plants of Allen Newport Ltd, in Fornham Park, Bury St Edmunds, and Waterbeach, Cambridge.
