Double success for Brøyt
James Boyd & Sons have placed an order for, and Whitemountain Quarries have taken delivery of, a Brøyt D1000T faceshovel from Sandvik Mining and Construction. Proven high levels of production and low running costs of existing Brøyt machines were just two reasons why both companies selected Brøyt again. This time, however, both companies opted for a larger machine to ensure that future increased production targets would be met.
Powered by a six-cylinder Volvo engine producing 266kW at 1,650 rev/min, the D1000T features: a heavy-duty 5.3m3 bucket with hardened teeth and front wear plates; cab guard; and air-conditioning unit. Engine canopies, when in the open position, form a working platform for easy maintenance access. Brøyt’s hydraulic control system delivers force and speed according to the load demand during the production cycle, allowing the operator to retain smooth and precise control while keeping fuel consumption to a minimum.
