Dirt Whacker cleans up in Norway

Ace Arc are helping Norwegian quarry owners Franzefoss extend the life of their conveyor belts with the installation of two Dirt Whacker cleaning systems.

Brynjar Lund-Andersen, project manager at Franzefoss, said: ‘We have two Dirt Whackers installed and are very happy with their performance. Without proper belt cleaning we get a lot of spillage under the belt-idlers that gives us extra cleaning costs. In turn, spillage on idlers causes wear that could eventually lead to the breakdown of the conveyor. We installed the scrapers because they are robust and adjust automatically.’

The Dirt Whacker system provides a level of automatic operation with permanent self-compensating adjustment against wear that makes it suitable for all heavy-duty conveying applications.
