Directorate change at Scottish Resources Group
THE board of Scottish Resources Group (SRG), the UK’s largest surface-mining coal producer and associated land and renewable energy business, has announced that Seán Mahon is to retire from his position as non-executive chairman of the company.
Ian McPherson will become SRG’s new non-executive chairman, with effect from 1 January 2011.
Don Nicolson, SRG chief executive officer, said: ‘On behalf of SRG, I would like to thank Seán for his valued contribution since becoming chairman in 2008. He has led the Board through a very important time in the company’s development and leaves the business well positioned for the future.
‘I would also like to welcome Ian to the role of chairman. SRG look forward to benefiting from his extensive previous business experience, including as a main board director of Tarmac plc responsible for its US operations, the IPO of Tarmac Industrial Products Division, on the LSE and non-executive directorships of several public quoted companies.’
