D9T dozer debut in South Wales

SOUTH Wales-based Walters Group are to take delivery of the first nine Caterpillar D9T dozers to enter service in the UK.

The new machines are part of a deal with Finning (UK) that also includes eight Cat 777D and four 775E dumptrucks, and a Cat 16H grader, all predominantly for use in the extraction of coal in South Wales. Walters currently supply all the plant for Celtic Energy’s opencast mining operations, including three sites that are currently coaling and one due to commence later this year.
