Costs Crushed

Terex Pegson say trials have shown that their fuel-efficient and high-capacity X400S-series jaw crushers can significantly reduce operators’ fuel and hydraulic oil costs.

Fitted with a direct-drive system to the crushing chamber, X400S machines are said to provide proven fuel efficiency and substantial savings on running costs, compared with hydrostatically driven machines. In trials comparing X400S units with equivalent competitor machines, Terex Pegson say the X400S reduced fuel costs by up to 33%, and hydraulic oil costs by up to 96%. Based on July 2008 prices, this, they say, means that, in a typical working year, operators could save up to £16,500 on fuel and up to £14,764 on hydraulic oil.

According to Terex Pegson, the high-swing jaw and hydraulic adjust and hydraulic release options on the X400S machines make them equally suitable for hard rock quarry and recycling applications.
