CDE announce two demonstration events in Germany
Company to host plant demonstration events in Cologne in April and Stuttgart in June
MATERIALS washing specialists CDE Global are to host two demonstration events in Germany in the coming months – one near Cologne in April and the other in Stuttgart in June.
The Cologne event will take place on 21–22 April at a site operated by Joseph Bohnen GmbH where CDE equipment is being used to process sand and gravel. The plant includes the M2500 mobile washing plant, AggMax portable log-washer and an AquaCycle thickener which facilitates the recycling of 90% of the water used in the washing plant.
Introduction of the AquaCycle thickener was critical to the success of the plant for Joseph Bohnen GmbH as a result of difficulty accessing the volumes of water required to feed the washing plant. ‘Water is not readily available at the quarry and we also required a plant that would take up minimum space on site,’ said company director Matthias Haus.
Designed with a focus on resource and energy efficiency, the plant secured funding from the BMU Environmental Innovation Programme, thanks to its ability to recycle 90% of the wash water and to reduce CO2 omissions as a result of the efficient deployment of clean electric power.
Following the event in April, another demonstration event will be held on the outskirts of Stuttgart in June. This event will take place at a site operated by Feess Erdbau in Kircheim Recycling Park, where a CDE plant for the recycling of construction, demolition and excavation waste has been operating for the last 18 months.
This project was supported by the EU Eco Innovation Fund due to the product developments it launched, including enhanced mobility, reduced plant footprint, a reduction in CO2 emissions from the plant, and the development of new sludge-management technology. The plant includes the M2500 mobile washing plant, AggMax portable log-washer, AquaCell thickener and a decanter centrifuge for sludge management.
‘The application of the M2500 and AggMax on these contrasting applications is evidence of the versatility of the machines,’ explained Eoin Heron, CDE regional manager for Europe & Russia. He added that the two events in Germany will be followed by additional demonstration events in Europe as well as in Brazil, Australia, the US and India.
