CDE among UK’s top-performing companies

Annual profit growth of 61% over three years secures place in Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100

CDE have been ranked among the top UK private companies with the fastest-growing profits. Having grown their annual profit by 61% over the past three years, the company secured the 80th spot in the annual Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100.

With global demand for construction sand being more than 15 billion tonnes per year, CDE has made it its mission to unlock a New World of Resource driving alternatives for sand production and protecting finite natural resources as large parts of the world face increasing demand for infrastructure and civil projects in the face of diminishing natural resources.

To this end, the company has just launched the Combo, the world’s first all-in-one wet processing plant, which was unveiled at bauma in Munich last week.

This sustainable technology is helping supplement natural sand by utilizing normally low-value crusher fines for sand production, thereby extending the life of natural resources and adding commercial value to customers’ enterprises.

The Combo (pictured at bauma) requires a small supply of fresh water compared with traditional systems that typically consume 10-15 times more water, thus allowing its deployment in quarries and urban areas not previously known for sand production.

In addition, sand can be produced closer to where concrete is required resulting in significant cost savings in the transport of aggregates and a reduction in emissions. It is also considerably more energy efficient lending itself to operation by renewable power.
