Case showcase wide range of equipment at Bauma

Case M-Series dozer

Stand to include Tier 4 Final mid-excavators, M-Series dozers, WX wheeled excavators and 621F wheeled loader

Case Construction Equipment will exhibit at this year’s Bauma exhibition in Munich a wide variety of equipment demonstrating the range of machinery on offer to customers around the world. From compact mini excavators and skid steers, to large wheeled loaders and crawler excavators, Case Construction Equipment say that their range meets the needs of customers in many industry sectors.

The Case stand will feature regular live musical performances from German group Power Percussion, who will use oil drums, tracks and other parts of the machines to create a totally new Case sound.

As part of Fiat Industrial, Case’s stand will include a complete technological offering, with a dedicated display of market-leading FPT Tier 4 engine technology and a section of the stand devoted to equipment monitoring telematic systems.

Journalists are invited to view live demonstration at the telematic section of the stand with our experienced stand staff, and to visit www.casece.com where there is a dedicated telematic area, explaining in full the customer benefits and service operations of the Case SiteWatch system. Sitewatch is part of the new CASE ProCare package, which includes the telematics solution as well as programmed maintenance and extended warranty.

Fiat Industrial’s sister company Astra will also provide their latest articulated dumptruck for the show. The stand will also include a Case IH Magnum 370 CVX tractor, a machine that is increasingly being used in construction as well as the agricultural market.

Tier 4 Final midi excavators

Case are launching two Tier 4 Final midi excavators. The short radius CX75C SR and the conventional CX80C MSR use high-pressure common-rail fuel injection, cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to meet the stringent emissions standards. This advanced solution is said to deliver more power for less fuel, lower particulate matter emissions and a significant drop in noise levels, whilst removing the need for a costly diesel particulate filter or for fuel-consuming regeneration.

The excavators develop up to 9% more hydraulic power thanks to high flow hydraulic pumps. Cycle times have been reduced, while digging forces increased by up to 3%. The machines benefit from a 7% wider cab that uses the same monitor and operator interface as the larger CX C Series of crawler excavators.

M-Series dozers

In a world exclusive, Case will show the M1650, the first in a new three-model range of M-Series dozers with operating weights of 13-20 tonnes, each delivering best-in-class drawbar pull, reduced exhaust and noise emissions and advanced automated control systems for increased productivity. Powered exclusively by fuel-efficient Tier 4 Interim FPT engines, using the proven Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to achieve lower emissions with improved fuel consumption, the dozers boast a 9-16% increase in power, yet deliver a 10.5% fuel saving, along with a 19% increase in productive efficiency.

Triple-pump hydraulics for wheeled excavators

Bauma will also give visitors the first chance to see two of the latest wheeled excavators from Case. The WX148-8 and the WX168-8 benefit from a three-pump hydraulic system, delivering increased performance and control. Case Intelligent Swing (CIS) allows the operator to adjust the upper structure slew speed to suit the application. The new dedicated Case levelling mode (CLM) maximizes speed, ease and precision in levelling operations. The excavators also have a revised engine speed and working mode selection dial to provide a single point of contact for the operator when setting the machine to work.

The WX machines drive through a fully automatic hydrostatic powershift transmission that is directly mounted to the rear ZF axle for maximum ground clearance. Multi-disc wet brakes and axle oil changes of 2,000h provide powerful braking with reduced operating costs.

621F wheeled loader

The Case 621F wheeled loader will make its first appearance at a European show at Bauma. The 12.2-tonne loader is powered by a second-generation common-rail Tier 4 Interim engine, benefitting from the use of fuel-saving SCR technology. Customers can expect to achieve fuel use as low as 7-10 litres/h from this engine, without the additional consumption that is common with EGR and DPF-equipped machines.

Driving through a proven ZF auto Powershift transmission and heavy-duty axles, the 621F is equipped with a 100% locking front differential for maximum traction and reduced tyre wear. As with larger F-Series models, the 621F has a cooling pack directly behind the operator’s cab, moving the engine to the rear of the machine to reduce counterweight. Cooling radiators form a cube behind the cab around the cooling fan, ensuring that clean air is blown through each radiator. This increased cooling efficiency results in longer coolant life and reduced ownership costs for the customer.

Pink backhoe loader

An unusual pink 580 tractor loader backhoe will bring a different colour to the Case stand this year. Produced at the Burlington, Iowa plant in the USA, the machine was built to raise awareness of breast cancer after design engineer Marvin Linder’s wife Leslie died of the disease. The 580 bears a Digging For A Cure decal and has been used to raise funds at various events throughout the US.

The actual machine is not for sale, but customers who wish to support Case in raising awareness of cancer can find a replica model of the pink backhoe at the Case online shop www.caseceshop.com.

Captain Case

Visitors to the stand will also be able to meet Captain CASE, an everyday action hero created by students at the Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin, Italy. Case is working with the prestigious design school to give students a chance to interact directly with industry, assisting them with their studies and offering opportunities to experience a larger design undertaking.

Taking inspiration from American superheroes, Captain CASE is ready to solve the problems of customers, providing a range of equipment solutions to meet their needs.
